Over the last few years, generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) has not only taken the world by storm but has proven that it is here to stay and will continue to dramatically alter how we do business and live our lives. The County, along with the rest of the world, is ensuring that we keep pace with this ever-evolving, once-in-a-generation technology.  

Our first seminar on AI last year, Gen AI and LA County: Getting Started, highlighted the use of AI and its functionality. We provided a basic overview of generative AI.  This year’s seminar, AI Foundation and Functionality, will expand the AI discussion to include Agentics AI, highlight examples of AI use within the County, and cover the review process before departments can use AI tools/technology.  We will hear from Microsoft and various County departments about their AI journeys.

 Participants will:

• Explore the basics of artificial intelligence, Agentics AI, and other new and emerging tools available to the County 
• View demonstrations of Microsoft’s products that are available to County users
• Hear from the County’s Managers on how AI is currently used in the County
