Chief Deputy County Librarian
Fred Hungerford represents the retired Management Council members. Mr. Hungerford’s career with the County spans a period of over 47 years which includes over 41 years of full time and 6 years of part-time work. His career included service in three departments starting with DPSS in 1970, Marshal, and Public Library. During his career he held a number of increasingly more responsible positions including division manager, Assistant Director/CIO, and finally Chief Deputy. Mr. Hungerford was instrumental in the formation of the Public Library’s Special Tax and Developer Fee programs to increase revenue and as CIO led the implementation of the Library’s new Integrated Library System. He has also participated in the design and construction of many new library facilities. Mr. Hungerford has been a member of Management Council since 1988.
