Do you find that solutions in the workplace often come up short and sometimes become the next problem?

The Los Angeles County Management Council’s seminar, “Critical Thinking: Solving Problems So They Stay Solved,” will focus on the essential leadership skill of complex problem solving. When we fail to solve problems, it’s not because we don’t know how to solve problems, but because we don’t know how to recognize the real problem! This seminar gives managers the tools they need to uncover the real problem, understand the system that created the problem, and plan a resolution based on what’s really going on. Gain a new way of thinking, an alternative to the common way of thinking, that will completely change the way you work.

Dr. David previously presented on Emotional Intelligence (July 2019), which focused on skills needed to create positive energy, build equity, and intellectual curiosity in the workplace. She provided insight into the latest research on emotional intelligence at work and best practices, such as non-positional thinking, team building, managing difficult conversations, and incorporated aspects of Emotional Intelligence into "solving problems.” David is currently on the faculty of California State University, Northridge, Master of Public Administration program. She is co-founder and senior partner at The Veritas Group, a consulting and training firm that focuses on critical and systems thinking for leaders.

Speaker: Dr. Ariane David, PhD, Co-Founder and Senior Partner, Veritas Group
